...but seriously it's kind of all over the place. I feel like I couldn't decide what I wanted to do with this strip, which makes some sense given that I rewrote it at the last minute. Happened with the last strip in episode 2 as well... hopefull this doesn't become a trend.
But yeah, episode 3 has come to a close. I'm kind of excited, because Episode 4 is my favorite of the episodes I've written so far (which is only about 5 and a half.)
I just hope I don't get too busy, I just finally landed a real job, Calculus is starting up, and I still have a lot of work to do to get the new comics ready... Eh, I who needs sleep.
Speaking of the new comics, I'm trying to get those started next month, though it's too early to make any real promises. Will update when I have more info.
We also might see a change to the fan comics page (again), but again, too early to say much more than that.
I'm feeling a little too scatterbrained to blog about much more (late night, had a surprise visit from some out-of-town friends yesterday--which is also why this update is late) so I think I'll end it
right
here.
-Nuzlocke

That was easily the best line ever :P
I think this is my favorite part out of all of them. Epic monkeys, great one-liners, and fire. Yay!
i do miss back when nuzlocke used to have really big updates versus his current method of less content per update but more updates. it just feels like its dragging sometimes. I still love what your doing though nuzlocke! im just gonna re-read from the beginning once its all finished (or atleast like every few badges) that way it feels like the old days lol good job though! keep it up :D
I'm not playing it as Nuzlocke though. But I'm keeping a lot of the same ideas of it. I'm going to TRY to not let a pokemon faint. If it happens I won't count it as dead though. And I'm trying to catch whatever pokemon i first encounter in an area and use it. But I'm not limiting it to ONLY the first encounter.
Though the whole "first encounter so you use ones you normally wouldn't" doesn't really work for me. I don't like most of the 5th gen. I'm sure that'll change by the end. But *shrugs*
When my first pokemon actually fainted I TOTALLY freaked out till I remembered that it won't *actually* die.
But the comic still is great. The giving away the monkey thing I think was stupid on the game's part. It's like going "here. All the other games, you've had to just be really good and make your pokemon with a type disadvantage win, anyway. But we'll give you a clear win"
And the last panel was hilarious, of course.
Yea I can see why they would do it. It helps teach more about type match ups. Plus, it's nice to be able to have a more even team from the start. I hate when I play a game and I don't get a good fire, water ext pokemon till like half way through. I just beat the gym and I have a nicely typed out team.
I think that gym is more just to show you how to do a gym, honestly. I didn't train the chimp at all and my other pokemon were a bit underleveled and still won with hardly a scratch.
Though I still think they should have left it out. Or given it to you at a much weaker level so you didn't just take it as is and be able to win. I think from the beginning you should know how to work the battle even when you're at a disadvantage. When I did my FireRed Nuzlocke playthrough, the first gym was super hard. Had to use strategy more than brute force because I only had Charmander, Pidgey, and Pikachu. (a lot more stat manipulation.) And I think that's good to learn from the start. But, it sure makes a Nuzlocke runthrough easier lol
Unfortunately that leaves me without a fire pokemon for all/most of the game. I don't like any of the fire pokemon in Gen 5. (Which is funny cause every single previous gen I like almost all the fire pokemon)
